The main purpose of the 4 Year Undergraduate Programme is to develop and disseminate knowledge, skills and values through education, field training and research necessary for promoting, maintaining and improving the functioning of individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities existing in the society. Under this programme, students will have to study total 20 major subjects at a deep level for Bachelor with Honours in each course which are called Discipline Courses-I (DC-I). These major subjects include theory, methods and areas of subject concerned and research based project. In the research based project, students will be offered to learn research methodology and prepare a project work which involves multiple learning pedagogies and activities in real life situations.


In the 4 Year Undergraduate Programme, students will have to choose total 6 minor subjects of their liking for additional knowledge and building their competencies outside their main subjects of study. These subjects are called Discipline Courses-II (DC-II). This offers a wide variety of courses as minor subjects those will help the students to learn about the national and global scenario of interdisciplinary mode and enhance their knowledge for getting employment or initiating for self-employment and allied areas.


Students will have to choose total 4 skill based subjects that will give practical knowledge which are called Applied Courses (AC). The outcomes of these applied courses are very useful for producing well trained manpower on the one hand and getting employment or initiating for self-employment in the concerned subject area and allied areas on the other.


This is a practice-oriented programme of study. Its main theme reflects an effort to kindle a value oriented and holistic thought process in the consciousness of the student that will lead her to a better realization and appreciation of the fact that there should be harmony between what one thinks, what one feels and what one creates or presents externally. In other words, the course will foster a value system that relies on actions stemming in harmony with an inner value system.
